any one put on a round airfilter cover buy changeing the backing plate and useing a stock filter and round cover and useing the parts from the original football filter. or is there a better way
The stock backing plate is large, plastic and butt ugly. Buy (at minimum) the SE stage 1 air cleaner. You can usually find them on HDF in the classifieds at a reasonable price or search ebay.
I wanted the same thing for my 09 SuperGlide, just a round cover. Hated the teardrop look. Ended up buying a Softail SE Stage I kit and a Fuelpak. Got the round look I was looking. Spent alittle money though.
I went with the SE backplate and a Zippers maxflow filter, toppped off with a Lucky Dog black air filter cover. (which I painted with the logo you see)
There is a stock CrossBones setup for sale on hte Softtail classifieds section. I do believe some has stated it does for the SB.
I just got a stock Cross Bones air filter set up from a member on this forum. It bolts right up to the Dyna, the softail air filter is a little larger then the dynas. I put over 100 miles on yesterday and my *** dyno tells me it feels better then the stock dyna setup.
