Default baffles

putting on the v&h straight shot slip-ons. i was thinking on getting the quiet baffles (haven't installed the pipes yet). i was wondering if a) the quiet baffles are that much quieter than the ones that come with the pipes and b) how much louder are either from my stockers?

thanks...ride safe

According to what I was told by V&H, the quiet baffles are maybe 3 db lower. These are not quiet by any means. It's all relative, I guess. They are way louder than stock.
I have the same pipes and what I noticed when I put in the quiet baffles was a deeper tone. They say there is more back pressure and a little more low end power but I could not feel much difference. See how you like them before you spend the bucks on other baffles.
I actually ended up being happier with the BCT QQ baffles. Not very quiet, either.

I concur with Nevil. I added the quiet baffles to my previous bike ('06 1200 sporty with straight shot slip ons) AND to my current short shots. It deepens the tone. It will be a little quieter at idle and if you're "trying to go easy" but, it will crack if you want 'em to. They're cheap, just do it...you'll like 'em.

Here's some videos. Not much of a difference in sound other then the tone, but still loud. I had the quiets in mine then put the standards in and thinking about putting in the quiets again to see if I feel a difference on that low end torque.

I'm sure the DB on the quiet baffles are higher because they were like 10ft closer then when I shot the standards and didn't realize till I saw the videos.

I did a post here about my install. You can see the difference between the baffles. I never mounted the original baffles so I can't speak for those.
I can say the quiet baffles are loud and have a semi deep sound. From what I've read the "quiet" baffles aren't that "quiet" compared the the standard baffles.
I'm also looking for anoter air intake setup, I'm told that it will improve the sound the exhaust makes as well.
