Red face Tire

I recently had a nail puncture on the rear tire of my 2008 Super Glide custom and I went and ordered a new tire but my question is since I have spoke wheels and a inner tube is it ok next time i get a nail i can just change the inner tube and have the tire patched from the inside or is there something else that needs to be done?

I'd say to go ahead with what you propose, unless the tire is punctured in the sidewall. I have been running a "tar string" plug in my tubeless rear tire for over 1000 miles now with no issues--to include prolonged 85 mph cruising on the interstate and occasional rear wheelspin. If it does come out, then my tire will slowly go flat just like it did when it initially got punctured and I noticed the rear end acting squishy--not really a big deal. In your case, a new tube plus a plugged/patched tire should be even more secure and certainly save some $$.

Just my opinion, of course.

I ran over something that fell out of the back of a pick up I was following (tried to miss it) punctured both tires (atleast 6 places in the front and 1 in the rear) the indy shop I use had the front tire in stock so I replaced it, and tubed the rear tire for a couple of days while the tire we ordered came in, I did not see any problems doing that.

In your case, a Tire patch and tube is a quality repair.

I had the same thing happen to me a year ago. New tube, patch the tire and off I went. No problems after 5000 miles.
