anyone know the best way to eliminate the heat that comes off of the rear of the stock air cleaner. remap,different air cleaner,ieds,what is the best way to cool this down.

 

'Exsessive' heat from the stock air cleaner maybe due to radiated heat from the exhaust.
XIED's may help by reducing engine temps.

 

Your feeling the heat from the red hot exhaust pipes. Have you ever looked at them in the dark after a ride? Glowing red hot! My solution was exhaust wrap. About $50 for 25 feet (varies) Takes the whole roll to do both pipes but it will stop your leg from catching fire. I put the chrome covers back on the pipes to hide it, but I have seen some folks go with the wrap look. The other option is to change your pipes and get a re-mapping to a more rich mixture which will also cool things down.

 

There is tons of info on that subject,but i can tell you I don't feel it at all anymore,my pipes are further away from my leg now,and my air cleaner cover is just a small thing now. That inflated air cleaner cover is like a radiator collecting heat,look down,do you see how close it is to your leg? You don't feel it while riding though right? Keep out of traffic! lol
