flat tire
Has anyone had a problem with the bead separating from the rim? Went for a ride the other day with nothing out of the ordinary happening, went to get gas two days later and the tire is dead flat. I filled it up and there leaks coming out the bead around the valve stem. My bike is a bob, I've never had this problem before without a nail or something on a bike or car. Thanks for any advice
being that it is a bob, you have laced wheels. laced wheels have a band that goes on the wheel first to cover the adjusters for the spokes inside the rim. This separates the tube from the base of the adjusters. In mounting the tire, they could have shifted the liner so the tube chaffes against the adjuster, the tube got pinched in mounting. You ran over something that punctured the tube but did not stay in the tire. There are several possibilities. The tube can be patched or get a new one. check the inside of the tire and placement of the wheel liner before reinstalling.
just my 3 cents worth. i would never patch a tube, they cheap to buy a new one. i ran over a nail 3 days after i got bob. hog towed my bike to dealer. my costs with new tube and labor.. 110.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ouch i say.
