I am 5' 10 and I went with 14" Gimps on 2" risers. Very comfortable height for me , can ride all day with nothing going numb.

good to know thanks, i usually go on long rides and i'm hoping these will be nice, the stock miniapes are just too small! a lot of people say they won't be comfortable for long and blah blah but all the guys i talk to that actually have tall apes say theyre real nice and help their backs and stuff

I tend to like mine to be slightly below my shoulders so minis are perfect for me. It is a matter of trial and error on comfort. You pretty much know the "look" you want from the beginning.

Don't forget to check the laws in your state, some have pretty restrictive requirements.

5'9" here and 16s are perfect. Will depend on your seat too.

Sit on the bike, close your eyes and throw your hands out and let them settle where they are comfortable. You'll look like your gripping an imaginary handlebar. Have a friend measure from top of the tree to your hands. Do it a couple times to make sure the measurements are the same. Buy those height bars. Remember to take into account how tall your risers are.

If you have 1.5" risers..and buy 16's....overall height will be ~17.5".

Definately agree with longhair.

I have 16's on my 06 SB and Im very comfortable. I'm also 6-01 with monkey arms. At your height 16's would be a good bit of altitude.

you may want to have someone measure where your shoulder comes to in relation to the height over the stock risers. The laws in most states are hands no higher than shoulder height. You can choose to ignore this law of course. Also one companies 16" bars are different than another. It's hard to say exactly what height to get as there are so many variables involved. If you can, maybe you can find some used bikes at the dealer with tall apes, or someone willing to let you sit on their bike to get a better idea of what you want.
