Default Progressive Drop-In Lowering Kit Question

OK - I have the kit and am about to install it in my 08 streetbob. One question (a dumb one I think).....The instructions say the correct length to cut the spacer for the SB is 1"....and that you can raise or lower the bike by cutting it longer or shorter....but it doesn't say how much of a drop I can expect with the 1" length - does that lower it the full 2"?....so if I cut it to 2" it would only lower the bike 1"???

LOL - yes I get the 1 + 1 = 2 part but for some reason I couldn't get my head around whether the spacer needed to be longer or shorter to lower it less.....but now I see that if the spacer is 2" long it lowers the bike 1".....if the spacer is 1" it lowers the bike 2"....no spacer (bad idea) would lower it 3"....

Had the same problem working out the damn spacer length lol..cut the spcer 1" and measured..yep dropped 2"..too low for my taste so redid with a 2" spacer and measured again..dropped 1 " and I'm happy...

Pic one with 2" drop...= 1" spacer
pic 2 with 1" drop...= 2" spacer

And got a lot stiffer ride : )

ps....don't forget to get a 1" shorter kickstand or rework your own,,,bike is more vertical after dropping it.

Question for ya'll....are ya'll just dropping the rear or front and rear? I was thinking of trying to drop just the rear of my 2010 DWG to bring the rear fender down some. I think it would look better but then is that going to screw up anythign as far as the sump level or anything else?

I think most are dropping front and rear and flavour of the month is Progressive 11" 412's rear and Progressive drop in kit in the front... some just drop the rear but don't think anyone just drops the front lol .....

Default lowering

Ive done 3 with the drop in kits and due to age and mileage they didnt all end up the same..With my brand new 09 it was spot on but on a 07 it was off.I lowered the front 2" and the rear 1" and the stance ended up real nice.....heres some pics..

That does look good with just the 1" drop in the front....I think I'll start with that....
