I bought the drag specialties 8 inch T-bar with straight risers and they feel good. I am 6'3" and made the mistake of buying some 10 inch T bars that had I think 4 inches of pullback and they put the grips in my lap. I replaced those with the 8s and couldn't be happier. If you like T bars I think those give you the closest riding position to mini apes without having mini apes. If I can figure out how to post some pictures of them on my bike I will, or if you want to PM me with an email addy I will shoot a couple of pics over to you. (I tried to upload some pictures to this site before with no success)
I'm looking at the chubby WO562 which is the t bar, 8 inch rise. Does someone have a pic of this bar on a dyna???
If your looking to straighten out the curve in your back, you may need to go higher than 8" of rise. Also you could simply add a 2" jim's spacer to your stock riser and achieve about the exact same location, saving you about 150 bucks. I think a 12-14" bar will put your back vertical with a comfortable bend in your elbow.
8 inches is about as far as you can go without getting too much pullback simply from the rake. I guess it all depends on how long your arms are and what is comfortable for you.
Those pics are very helpful.
I didn't think about the rake affecting the bar position.
Its to bad they don't have a simulator for handle bars on various bikes. I know they have a simulator for cars and trucks for picking out rims. HHuMMMMMM???
I think what I might do is weld some steel together to simulate the bars on the bike, different pullback and measurements. The first ones I do will be the 10 rise with 6.5 pullback, 8.5 center, and bent risers.
?? when it says pullback measurement is that counting the bend in the risers?
OOPS
PULLBACK:
OK red to blue or red to orange or blue to orange.
ONE the I hate is after market bars don't specify if it is totall pull back or just top bar pullback. ARGGEE!
