Default street slammer bar questions

i need to know if anyone can help me. i ride an 01 superglide and im lookin to get new bars for it, street slammers to be exact, but im trying to figure out if it is as easy to switch as the people selling them say they are? i really like the look and am willing to do the work i just need to know what other parts i will need like cables, covers, bolts, ext.... also, do i have to get an after market speedometer because with thoes bars it dosent look like it would be able to stay on there? if anyone could help that would be great

cutter you cannot install the streetslammer without getting a gauge mount for the speedo and idiot lights. You can get an accutronix one or go to paughco, and get a couple cable guides that fit 1 1/4" bars and mount the speedo unit to them. The cable guides are loads less expensive if you get from paughco. Other than that you will have plenty of wiring to install the bars. So you know, You could get an 05 FXDC bar or Nightster bar(same bar only nightster is black), and the end position will be around the same as the streetslammer. The part # for the FXDC is 56004-00. 56085-83a for the nightster one. Actually, I think your bike came stock with the bars I mentioned as well. So the streetslammer may not do anything position wise over what you already have.
