Aren't these year to year changes usually a well kept secret? I got one of the very first 07' bikes in late July of 06' and did not know about the 96 Cu " until the last minute. They kept it a secret almost until they hit the showroom.
Yep, it's all true! They're also getting rid of the 6 speed and going with automatic transmissions. And the driver airbag option on the Ultra Glide.

I personally think that the dude was just trying to chat me up to try and sell me some **** I didn't need and he was talking out his azz. Harley seems to do a pretty good job of concealing their new line until they are ready and since the '10s just came out, I don't see how he'd know that info.
Being from Pa. and having just bought my first H-D in October, I've been watching what's been going on with the York, Pa. plant. The Motor Co. has come to a deal with the union and will be staying put for now. This is bringing about $100-$200 million in improvements to the plant, combining the Touring and Softail lines into one and outsourceing some of the componant manufactureing. All that said I think they will stick with the 96 incher for a while, and 17 new models would be a pipe dream. IMHO>
That sounds pretty doubtful. If you read Harley's financial report they explain that they are specifically not looking to drop prices like a number of the foreign bike makers have out of fear it would harm the brand. They said production was cut by 33% in anticipation of the economy continuing to stay where it is - I think I read this in the 3rd qtr report but it's on the website. 17 new models is also pretty outrageous.

also heard that they're going to have reverse, and indicator lights for all gears. Its also been rumored that Mud's tach design with changeable fonts will be available in 2011.
