My carb'd Sporty used to fart pretty regulary after I did the high flow/rejet and although that didn't bother me, NOW my EFI Bob ('06) has done it twice in the last two weeks...Anybody know the cause of this? It was 'cold' both times (running no more than 5 minutes)...I always let it idle for 30 secs to 1 minute before starting off...Have SEII slip-ons w/exposed K&N filter and HD download...happened again today...Anybody know what causes this???
ps-have had the same setup noted above for past several weeks/months and the farting just started recently...yes, i'm running the high octane (93)...
Do you know how to check and see what injectors you are running. Look in front of the horn, towards the intake Y and to the rear of the Y you will see the injector. If the injectors last numbers are -06 you have the 8 degree injectors which could be giving you problems.
My 06 StreetBob coughed pretty regularly (once or twice a week). I have the SEII slip-ons, SE AC, and the dealer downloaded the new map when they installed the slip-ons and AC. The coughing did not really botehr me b/c it was only occurring in the first few minutes after a cold start. HOWEVER, in the last few weeks, my bike would just suddenly stop running at freeway speeds (lots of fun at 80 mph in rush-hour traffic). I finally got it in to the dealer last week for a look - they are installing new injectors and a new fuel pump. You have the new injectors so start thinking about testing your fuel pump. If the new stuff takes care of the sudden stalls, I'll be putting on a PCIII soon.

I have a efi bike too and I have the se air and vh pipes with a pc3 and just had it dynoed and guess what? You got it!! It farts from time to time also I kinda think it's just a harley thing I mean almost all my friends bikes fart from time to time also... I said something to the dealer who dynoed my bike about it and they said they would run it again. I will let you know how it is afterwards.
All Dynas built pre- 13th Feb '06 were installed with 8 degree injectors, which, under certain circumstances, can give the fault you describe; all engines built after this date were fitted with 25 degree units to solve the problem. Check it out with your dealer quoting Harley's service bulletin M1185 - raised to deal with the issue, however, on this side of the pond dealers are playing hard-to-get, and none has accepted liability or replaced injectors under warranty as yet!
