Bike throwing a code?? Help..
Adrian, just having my coffee now and getting ready to go to work so can't really help you much right now but I know ratbob posted that long ole post on your thread the other day, just read that sucker and you'll be able to stumble through it man. You are not gonna f anything up just to pull a code, it's super easy, once you pull the code you can even erase any stored codes but make sure you write any codes down first, then post em on here, so we can try to diagnose the area throwing em.
Good luck man,
Good luck man,
Adrian- I'm pretty sure it is tied to your handlebar swap. That's when it started,Yes ? I had a shorted out wire in my bars and it was fine until the rear tire rubbed a wire under the rear fender. When this happened lots of things quit working...turn signals, speedometer, dash lights, tail light, etc. It was all tied to the pinched(shorted) wire in the switch housings. Check those out first.
Bah, you'll be fine adrian. Just take it one step at a time and check the codes.
I'm not going to seriously speculate on what's causing this until we see the diag result since this could be a lot of things. But, a dirty or failing injector might do this especially with this new turdtastic ethanol fuel that we all have to use..

Yeah, it could be the short in the handlebar wiring, but I just think its kinda wierd for it to only come on when accelerating aggressively.
Anyway, I'm going to be running the codes here in a few minutes, I'll let you guys know what it reads.

Hey guys,
I ran the Diagnostics code list, and it was a bit wierd.
When my bike went down from the failure of the stator/rotor/voltage regulator a while back, my bike threw codes. So I did get some codes, but I think it may have been from the last it went down.
So I checked, and the code P1353 came up under the "P" secion of the DTC.
So I continued to read the instructions, and it said to determine if code is current or historic, clear it and turn off ignition, run bike, then repeat steps 1-9.
I did that. I went back to the "P" section of the DTC, and this time around it read "None."
So I guess that code was historic, from when it previously went down for the stator/rotor/voltage regulator..... right??
I'm not getting any codes anywhere else. So whats your guys concensus?
