Last month a buddy's battery terminal basically melted so we went in search of a new one and since it was on a sunday the dealer was not an option. We found out what the minimum CCA needed for his bike ('04 EG) and found one at Walmart for like $65.
You guys can't tell me that ONLY the dealer has the proper batteries for our bikes.
As for the person who bought a battery at Batteries Plus...did you know the correct CCA and buy a battery that met that requirement because it doesn't sound like you did so I wouldn't blame Batteries+...
What about your local indy shops? Don't forget metric shops either.
I don't use a Tender. My first RKC's battery was 5 years old when I replaced it outta paranoia. The second one is 5 years old and still going strong........It is 20 degrees in my garage right now. My bike hasn't been started in over a month. I have no doubt it will fire right up.
I use this site to find the number of the Deka battery I need then do a google search to find the best price. Sometimes it's the same site and sometimes not. Last time it was ebay.
Just remember too you get what you pay for i don't scimp when it comes to my ride, and a battery tender does prolong the life of a battery i use it year round and going the fourth season on the same battery.
