headlight options?
more info.... the stock light has 3 wires... high, low, and ground... many aftermarket lights just ground to the headlight shell. You just need to find out the high and low wire color for your new headlight and wire to the respective wires for high and low on your bike. It is very easy. If you use posi-lock connectors you don't need to solder. They make connectors that are completely waterproof(can be found in my link earlier).

.
Trust me, if I can rewire a headlamp and it works anyone can. I bought an older Fat Boy 7 inch H/L that had a lot of wires going everywhere and some went no where.
Just jump in and start cutting the wire making sure you have something to put them back together with. I used crimp on snap in connectors and sealed them up really good with Liquid Tape inside the H/L housing.

Search Ebay or send Namvet@ptd.net an email and ask him what he has in a take off H/L

bought a 5 3/4 inch bullet headlight from outlaw cycle parts for just over 100 bucks.
IMO the headlight on my bob always made my bike look like it got punched in the nose. can't wait to mount up the bullet

well i like the looks of that cobra headlight. i really like the bullet look of it and it seems like theres a few people who have used it here and had really good luck. what mount did yall use that used the cobra headlight?
I have the cobra too. Great light for the money. Very easy to install.
There is a ground wire that if I remember right that I didnt have to connect because it grounds through the mount. I used the stock mount but had to get a little longer bolt.

Personallly I like the 6 1/2" Tear Drop headlight that J&P Cycles sell for $90. It is basically a Springer style headlight & has a nice shape, not too stretched or too big. See page 295 of their online catalog.
