Default inner primary?

I just bought a chrome inner primary part# 60794-06 advertised as a 60794-06B. I have a 2007 super glide custom can someone tell me if it will fit my bike?

Thanks wild one

Don't know about this piece specifically but generally when H-D appends an alpha character without changing the part number it reflects some minor change, enhancement, etc. Should fit without any problem but the easy way to be certain is to call the parts dept at your local dealer.

I could be wrong, but I suspect the part you have is missing the alignment dowels. It will fit on but as some mention on here that without them the case is not fully aligned and the inner primary bearing fails prematurely if not assembled correctly. If you have 4 alignment dowels it is the correct one unless someone modified it before sale. 2 dowles for the starter and 2 for the case.

According to the Instructions sheet, this inner primary (60794-06B) has the dowel pins and will fit 2006 and later Dyna models (except FXDWG).

Quote from instructions sheet:

"For 2006 Dyna model motorcycles:
Remove dowel pins from the chrome inner primary housing before attempting installation.
Using a pair of pliers or vice grips, remove the dowel pins by carefully twisting and pulling on the pins.
Be careful not to scratch or mar the chrome or sealing surfaces of the chrome inner primary housing."

totally forgot about the alignment dowel change. Willing to bet that's the reason for the B. Original part came out in 06. From what I've gathered here, after many IPB issues, the primary was changed to include dowels. That would have precipitated the B appendage so people can differentiate.

Another easy way to check this stuff is the HD online catalog:

Chrome Inner Primary Cover

Because all components in this cover are exactly like the Original Equipment part, you can be sure this cover will match your outer cover, right down to the high quality chrome-plating. It completes your custom powertrain without the hassle of troublesome exchange programs. This cover includes all bearings and seals already installed to ensure Harley-DavidsonŽ quality.

This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle.

60794-06B

Fits '06-later DynaŽ models (except FXDWG, FXDSE/2, FXDFSE and FXDF with Forward Foot Controls).

MSRP US $299.95

Just as Ren'e posted, The 60794-06B implys newer inner primary with dowels. If the one you receiver is 60794-06, it will fit your bike,
but good luck lineing it up. I wouldn't , you'll be going backwards into the famous '06 IPB problems. Believe me you want the dowels.....

Found this in another post:

Part # 60792-06 (INNER chrome primary case) would be for 2006+ Dynas (and 2007+ Softies) that came with forward foot controls (no mid-shaft hole). Harley list three parts # for your inner chrome primary case: 60792-06, 60792-06A (with the new 2007 dowel pins? – per above diagram for mid-controls part# 60794-6A) and 60792-06B (I’m not sure what the B fixed!? – anyone know?). Could you be one of the few lucky ones that also received a new transmission case (part# 34747-06A) from the shear generosity of The Motor Company?! Or did the HD mechanic simply remove/leave out the dowel pins from 60792-06B and installed it onto your bike without changing the transmission case? On a side note, Harley only list one part# for the OUTER chrome primary case for forward foot controls (60782-06), and only one for my mid-controls (60764
