ordered my tank lift last night from Jackly cant wait to get it installed. Whats the best way to drain the tank and get the tank off. Will i loose fuel out the peatcock connection and how does it release. I know i don't need to pull the tank but iam buried in another foot of snow after yesterday and i want to run my speaker wiring under the tank and do someother things.
you will not lose fuel from the "petcock" as long as you pull the pump fuse and run it till it dies. you WILL lose it from the crossover line. best advise is to siphon as much as you can out of the tank first... then try again.
i didn't cut mine, i just clamped one side and put a flex hose from the nipple to a gas can. replaced and clamped the other side, repeat.
nothing worse than spilling gas below freezing weather.
yes his come with everything needed. but like my buddy said his came with new cross over but he didn't need to put it on had enough clearance he said with only going up 2 inchs.

@OP looks good so far, but you may want to check with the DOT regs where you live before removing the reflectors. Here in Pennsylvania you need them to pass the yearly safty inspection.
I'm not so sure about the inspections, I've had 2 so far, done by my indy and the reflectors never came up. My bike was used when I got it (400 mi) but it came from a PA dealer and there were no reflectors on it when I got it.
