Default Sears Yellow Jack...Frame Question (FXD)

I had my bike over at a friend's house today, installing the front signal relocation kit. He has a Sears Yellow Jack. My bike is a 2005 FXD. When we went to slide the jack under the bike, it hit a piece of the frame on the brake side that appears to protect the oil pan. It looks like a wing and it tapers from back to front. It would not allow the bike to sit level on the jack, as the frame piece is only on one side.

We ended up relocating the jack to a forward part of the bike, but it wasn't as stable. Anyone else have this same setup on their bike? How do you deal with setting it up on the jack?

Typically you need HD lift adapter blocks, some folks manage with 2"x4" see following link:

Ask and you shall receive. I apologize for the quality, I just ran out to the garage and snapped a few quick shots.

I'm pleased with how they turned out.
