09FXDB......
I didn't see where the original poster stated a price range he was limiting him/herself to... ...only that he/she wanted a visor / bullett style headlamp and mentioned a 5 3/4.
There are folks who dont mind the cost..... if it fits the style they're looking for.
Had the person said they wanted something under 100... I would not have even bothered to post. Sorry if it offended anyone.
BTW..... the part number 69735-05 also fit my 2007 Low Rider's 4 1/2 headlamp before I switched out to the 5 3/4.
LWOS - the original poster was looking at 2 lights that were 100 bucks each. The other links/suggestions were also $100 specials. Your light ( & headwinds & adjure) are nice lights, but that's a different catagory. That's what 09FXDB was trying to say - only used a few less words...
Again...... sorry. I read the original posts but didn't click the links. I didn't know it was that critical that headlamps costing $100 (no more, no less) be discussed.
whichever you pick, get a 5 3/4" one. the smaller one is too small IMHO.... I personally like the stock light. I have a black trim ring from a crossbones on mine. Only headlight I would consider that I like better is the headwinds carbon fiber one. If your going for the additional chrome, the eastern performance lights are great and inexpensive. The stock headlamp on your bike can be made to fit into their lights giving it a much better look than the plastic cheap headlamp they put in their shells. Just gotta sand down the extra lip on the back of the H-D one to fit in their shells. I did that myself with one.... Another member on the forums here has the headlight now.
A while back Headwinds was running a weekly special on a bullet style headlight housing.
$60 and you reuse your stock glass.
It's a bullet style with no visor.
I can tell you the fit and finish is second to none. If this is still running you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't at least consider it.
You might have to spring for a mount post. I found one on ebay for $10.
Another $6 in chrome mounting hardware - bolts/washers/etc - and I've only spent $76 for a DAMN nice housing.
Thought I would throw out the idea of the FXR style chrome dual ring headlight. They put them on Shovels and FXR's for many years. Lots of chrome, fit well, are the larger of the two sizes mentioned and look half way decent compared to painted black bucket lights. I run a Silverstar bulb and it throws quite a bit of light. You can get them brand new for 50 bucks on ebay. Just an idea.

Really? I have the Cobra II and used the HD glass without any modifications. It's a snug fit getting out, so maybe I should look into your info...
