Man, I must have got a set finished off before a long weekend...I have the turnouts on my '09 FXDC. They sound great, I really like the look of the turnout, but they discolored not even a week after I installed them. My bike is completely stock with the exception of these pipes. I was extremely careful during installation and made sure they were completely clean from any grease, fingerprints and cleaners before firing it up. I sent the company pictures with hopes they would make it right, they told me it was from my boot. Well, if my boot touched the part of the pipes that discolored then there is something seriously wrong with my riding position (and there isn't). My father in law had a similar situation with his Rush Slip-Ons and they replaced them with no questions asked (kinda blew my mind honestly). I'm glad everyone else has had good luck, but remember, you usually get what you pay for.
I have the turnouts and love em..
Are they as good as complete pipes probably not.
Flow wise real good.
Sound great.
Will the chrome last forever....... dont care they are pipes .
if you change pipes you'll most likely need to add more fuel either with a sage 1 download from the dealer or a tuner of sorts so your pipes don't change color.
I had Cycle Shack full pipe system on a FLSTC and they were too loud for my ears. after a long ride or riding on the expressway they just were a source of irritation to me. i do have sensitive ears and want to keep my hearing for many years to come.

What are you running now, FLHX? I've already got tinnitus (mostly from the wind but don't want to make it worse with loud pipes). My 09 FLHTC is bone stock and so far the 07 FXDB is as well. I wouldn't mind a better rumble on the dyna but don't want to go up much in db.
I haven't been diagnosed yet but do believe I have tinnitus as well. I as I type am listening to a constant ringing in my ears. I'm going to get it looked at in the near future so as to not do any more damage to my ears.
back to the pipe question: I have stock pipes on my FLHX and use ear plugs when on long trips on the expressway as the wind noise is an irritant to me. If you have hearing problems going with a pipe such as loud as cycle shacks may not be the best choice. of course all of which is my opinion. I guess who's else would it be as I'm typing. Everyone seems to love the loud sounding Harley which is very cool but to me being on the thing and riding for lengths of time isn't so cool.
I ride around 12K a year so it's more than just a put around the corner when I ride. I'm not trying to say that makes me better than anyone, just a fact in having to deal with noises for lengths of time while riding.
I loved my CS but they were loud. I just sold them to buy a set of XR style pipes. Had I kept them I would have used a wrapped baffle.
They were blue under the heat shield, I don't know if a cure except heat shields.
