Default Lowering Shocks

I am ordering my Progressive Lowering Shocks this weekend. Then the Fender will wrap around the tire just as the Wide Glide Does Stock.

Remember that the Wide Glide Comes with the Dyna Low Shocks. Only 1 Inch Difference.

Alternative is use the lowering blocks. (50 bucks)

Yeah I did all the work my self. The width is the same once installed on the FXD or Street bobs. The fender is in the exact same location. Now Harley has a new KIT out. It just came out in the 2010 suplement. Its bbasicly the Steet bob Fender (narrow type) without the holes for the tailight. (u have to use the sidemount.) THeres a new Part# for that too.

Primed Black Kit# is 59860-10BEO $349.95
Vivid Black Kit# is 59860-10DH $449.95

New Side Mount Kit (chrome only) 60938-10 $194.95

Go to www.surdyke.com for about a 25% discount on all Harley parts. Avoid the Stealer on the large ticket items. The part #'s are easily available. All 2010 parts are already on there system for shipment. I got my Fender and Sidemount in about 2 weeks. Painted Vivid Black.

Also I installed the Conversion Kit for the Taillights

very cool, I was hoping you were going to drop the rear end, will look really good with that fender hugging the tire, nice job man, and way to not listen to the dealer and those who said it could not get done, anything can get done with a little work.

I still don't get it unless my ruler is lying. What happened to the issue in the OP's about concaving the fender to get by something or other?

Are we all on a magical mystery tour here?

Can I get specific details on how you mounted the license plate? I'm assuming you made a bracket to go on the inside of the fender. Any mock up drawings and information is appreciated.

Default Details on Harley SIDE MOUNT/2010 rear Wide glide Fender

The concaved pouches I created near the strut. Where the strut is welded to the dyna frame. I used the air hammer to create reliefs so the fender would clear flawlessly. Yes its wider, yes it fits. The bolt holes are the same. All dimensions are the same other then width. But you cant tell once installed. You can still use sissy bars and all standard accs.

But you can not use the mounting tab made for the Dyna Wide Glide on the stock sidemount. You have to make your own. Strait steel and washers then I wrinkle black spray bombed them for a quick install. Works fine. I'm pretty happy for now. I cuould remove it and Draft the dimmensions if anyone really needs me to. I did use cardboard first to mock it up, then transfered to steel. Was a first attempt and its fine. Unless your under the bike you dont even see the 90 degree angles of the steel. I could have rounded the corners on the bench grinder but you cant see it.

Got to love Rust-Oleum.

Guys I'm not kidding. The fender is basicly a bolt on. Took me about 5 minutes to create a plan. You can use a hammer and punch if you dont have the air hammer. But the air hammer allows you to make smooth precision reliefs.

I just finished installing a 2009 FatBob Fender on my 07 FXD Super Glide.
Its not real fun but if you're patient it can be done.
I didnt even have to make the indentions craftsmandave spoke of.

Ok...i understand....u only had to concave at the front where the struts narrow and not the entire length of the fender...other than that it slide right in....is this correct...

Is there still room between the fender and strut for rigid side plates?
