Ok, i just bought a 180/55/18 tire-18x5.5 wheel for my 01 Dyna Lowrider. The tire is just a little too big for the stock fender. Has anyone on here done this mod? I'm cool with buying a new fender... Does a 180 even fit between the struts of a 01 lowrider? Any ideas of where to buy a cutom fender for this setup? Any help or ideas would be very helpful. Sorry if this has been posted already. please let me know if it has and i will search it.
This is a Doable thing! You will have to spend a lot of money to do it ! You now have a fender that is 7 1/2" wide and a wide belt, your struts will have to be cut off and moved out to put a wider fender on and your swing arm will need to be modified for your brake caliper. You will also need to space out your primary so you have room for your belt.It all sounds pretty E-Z?

the fender on our 05's was brought to the width it is in 02. I believe the fender on an 01 is even more narrow as according to the moco accessories the sissy bars are more narrow than the ones that fit 02-05. I think the struts would have to come off, maybe he might need a belt change, and of course a strutless fender would need to be mocked up... yup lot's of money for a little wider tire...
This is a question you should've asked "BEFORE" you bought the rim/tire! I'm guessing your looking at different fender, paint, struts, swingarm, spacers, axle, pulley, belt, possible belt guards, brake caliper, passenger peg supports. And probably a few other things. Like fixxr said, it's doable, but it won't be cheap! Even if you go with a aftermarket kit, it's still big $$$!
