Old no. 7 was Mr. Jacks favorite girlfriend, Toothless Gertie, legend has it that when the copper tubing(hundreds of feet) used in the still needed a good cleaning he just called on her to suck all the tubes clean.Yeah,it would be handy to have a woman like that around in my opinion.
I need to find a Glenfiddich timing cover ... not that I haven't supported Jack from time to time over the years ....
Man after my own heart, though Glenfiddich is in my everyday sipping category. For serious appreciation I prefer McCallan, Oban, or Balmore. Course I won't turn down Dalwhinnie, Balvenie, or any other decent single malt.
Not a huge fan of the Islays however - bit too smoky from the peat for me.
Someday I may tell the story of my weekend in Scotland and the night I don't much remember. You've been to bars that pride themselves on having hundreds of types of beer? Like that, but think single malt.
The relation between Harleys & Jack Daniels is that some Harley riders are Jack Daniels drinkers. It a similar correlation between Harleys and Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Firefighters, cops... Harley also sells derby covers with those logos.
about 30 years ago I bought a bottle of JD with a promotion to receive copies of all the old labels Jack wasshelved with in the past. A letter came with the package stating that old no7 was the favorite still of the young company churning out the best tasting whiskey with the least bad luck IE fires, leaks or explosions, and it never got busted! I agree with the aforementioned "market value" being the relationship to those derby and timing covers,or any other deco parts for a harley.
On a personal note I think jack is smooth as glass going down!

Yeah ... those are the types of places I prefer ... other than the ones when you ask if they have scotch whisky they offer you crown royal ...!
I just finished a bottle of Lismore ... got a pretty good value on it ... have a bottle of Tamdhu with a little remaining ...
I like the Longmorn 15 y.o. and the Aberlour 15 y.o. ... those are pretty good values, as well. Isle of Jura isn't bad and either ... I am not really into the heavy peat either ... I wasn't very impressed with the Knockandoo ....
