Vic are you sure no moisture builds up from condensation inside the bag? If that's the case I'll try it.Otherwise someone needs to invent a hard plastic, moulded enclosure to fit around that damn connection.
It is the pcV's black connector which gets hooked up to your stock grey connector that you will be pulling out of your fuse box and remains exposed between your batt. and fuse boxes. Best advise i can give ya is to try and keep the black conn. with it's openning facing down. And it may not hurt to try Vic's (longhair) suggestion.
Since implementing that fix last spring I have not had any moisture issues at all. The baggie idea, coupled with the dielectric grease has worked out well.
I didn't have any moisture issues until I swapped to a mustang solo seat.
When i first installed my PCV on my 09 dyna I followed the directions and with the connector behind the motor and between the fuse box and battery it filled up with water in no time. I took it all apart let it dry out and then rerouted the connector to under the seat. There is a little "shelf" under the seat below all the other cables, and that is where my connector sits. No more problems with water.
It was a pain in the a** to get it there and all the cables back in place but the connector stays dry. I also put a little grease on the connector.
Thank You Vic and Kaycee, I shall do that before the spring , heck one baggie and a half hour's work is alot cheaper than buying the TTS and then tuning it for several runs with a laptop strapped on my back!
I probably should of tried the baggie fix, but I'm tired of messing with it, I want it right and I don't want to worry anymore. With the SERT, cams and dyno tune I will have to open my wallet wide but then it will be worry free riding pleasure from here on.
I have mine (PCV) in a ziploc bag... then I zip-tied the bag close tight around the cables. It sits right under my seat. I wash the bike, and I get douched in pouring rain. Never a hic-up.
