I am thinking Mustang seats has topped the list as worst customer service ever... Lets see, I needed my seat repaired under warranty. I called after thanksgiving weekend. Spoke to a customer rep. He made up an RMA and sent to appropriate dept. to send out to me. I wait 3 weeks(told me the shipping label and instructions for rma would be at my house in a couple of days). I call back and the folks in the dept that handle rma's sent out my stuff to a completely wrong person. wrong state, name , etc... anyways The customer service rep finds the error, corrects it and re sends my rma packet out. so I get it a week later.... that's one month now since first contact to get my seat fixed. I box seat and send it back... confirm through ups shippment arrived at mustang. Ok good... I had been assured that my repair would take at the most 2 weeks to get done and back to me....OK a couple of weeks go by... I call to see if my seat has shipped out. According to the woman in RMA dept they have not recieved my seat yet!!!! WTF? Ok she ends up figuring it out and says it was just recieved on the 19th....NO, it was received on the 9th and signed for verified by UPS... anyways It is now a month later and still no seat, no word of anything....and now I can't get rma dept. on the phone... numerous calls and messages left.... Nothing.... I tell you this is the worst customer service experience of my life...
wow talk about coincidence.... I hit the button to post this and 1 minute later I call mustang... I get a hold of her.... I get a tracking # and my seat is out for delivery to my house today...LOL.... Still been a very nervous experience with them sending out the rma to the wrong person, loosing the package at mustang...and not being able to call me as they said they would once the seat had been shipped...so all in all a 3 month experience just to get the seat repaired due to multiple errors in their dept. Oh she wanted my t-shirt size to send me out a shirt for my troubles....LOL...
Other than the problems you’ve had with their RMA (I’ve been experiencing / hearing this alot lately), how do you like the seat itself?
I have been praising this seat for it's comfort since day 1... Quite a few forum members have bought it based on my helpful recommendation and can say the same thing. This seat is a great seat for all day riding and it is a beautiful low profile seat. The problem that myself and others experienced is that the seat they get does not cover the bolt at the bottom of the tank where the console attaches to. the seat foam is supposed to hang over the front of the pan 1/2" to cover the bolt. My seat did not overhang at all which is why I sent it back. According to mustang customer rep, the foam there is very thin and sometimes when the cover is then installed, the foam get pulled back behind the pan... in other words, they are not doing a good job of quality control to make sure once the seat is finished this has not happened. Now it also seems that they are sending out other model seats with wrinkles in the cover... all in all... their quality control is very lacking lately. I would buy a lepera daytona, danny grey weekday 2up, or something else over mustang right now. Also if you are strickly a solo rider, get a fastback style seat for the Dyna....looks 1000% better than a solo does on our bikes.
Also, I have not gotten the seat back yet so I cannot currently comment on if they actually fixed it right or not...UPS probably won't be here till late in the day.
There's just no excuse for that type of "Service". They should call it the DIS-Service Dept. It sure gets frustrating when those types of situations come up. Glad it Finally got worked out AND you get a free t-shirt...Whoooppppeee.
