Ok, now I am thoroughly confused after a recent visit to the dealer.
I just want to add 1.75" Rush Slip-ons to a 2010 Super Glide Custom to replace the stock for a better "harley" rumble sound. At least for now, I'm not planning on adding a stage 1 kit or air filter changes or a fuel mgt system--but I guess that's the $1200 question right now...So do I need to do anything else to the bike or can I just bolt these on and roll? Will I have to worry about overheating and possible exhaust discoloration? Will I lose any real HP or torque?
The original Screamin' Eagle 2 mufflers (the 'for off road use only' version that is no longer carried at the dealership) and the Rush mufflers are my two favorites for both sound and quality.
For what it's worth, my Harley dealership mechanic friend told me that from test results you can use 2.0" or smaller baffles in the Rush mufflers without needing to remap anything.
I'm running the Rush 2.0" Baloney Cut mufflers on my modified 2003 WideGlide. Here is a little audio/video of the mufflers at idle. I used an old Sony digital camera with build in mic so the quality isn't that great, but it will give you an ideo of how they sound;
yep just slap them on and ride.... those turn signals are awesome what are those??
That's the Kuryakyn Panacea Tailight System. The main tailight has the run/brake/turn module and flashes 6 times when you brake to get the guy behind you to pay attention and get off your ****. I also added the rear and front LEDs from them as well. They even have a video on their website to show you how to install them and the ordering process is simple. All you need is a screwdriver and be able to remove your seat--it looks even better at night. http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go...ID/3/IMID/1588
The pic you see if of my FatBob which I just sold for a nice profit--my 2010 Super Glide Custom is waiting for Spring at the dealership. And yes, the license plate means I am a scarcastic SOB!!
You've already heard it above, but I'll add confirmation. I've had Rush slipons on my Sporty and now my Fatbob with no other mods and it's completely fine. As stated, don't go above 2.0 baffle size otherwise it may cause breathing issues.
The Rush slipons are fantastic. IMHO, I'd go for the 2.0 vs. 1.75. It's a deeper rumble on the Vtwin without being obnoxious.
