I had an FL front end but took it off and put a night train front end on it with a fat boy fender and a ultra front wheel like it much better than the fat boy solid wheel

Default Softail flst chrome headlight nacelle instruction sheet

Received this info in a visitors message this week:

"Hey, just want to let you know I have the .PDF instruction sheet for HARLEY SOFTAIL FLST CHROME HEADLIGHT NACELLE 67907-96C. Hope this might help someone. I posted it to my site:
http://www.59thlandclearing.org/pdf/Nacelle.pdf

Shark"

Since it's Softail related I'd guess it's better to post it over here then add it to my Dyna Models Instruction Sheet database.........

Thanks for sending in this link, Shark!

This is nuts. Fat front ends, short or air shocks, floorboards, windshields, apes, Z bars, fork lowering kits, forward controls. ON A DYNA? Talk about unclear on the concept.
Why not just buy a Road King or Street Glide? Just sayin'.
It's like chopping a Buell, or putting FLH tanks on a GSXR. Sheeesh.

It's all relative...if we took that advice we would all be riding the same bike...and still driving Model A Fords in basic black. We are all free to customize any way we please.

Default Mine's Almost Done

I got everything test fitted and on. It started as a 2003 Deuce. Going to ride it for a couple weeks, then tear it back down and fix the little things. Then she's good to go!

Scott

You've got a bit of an advantage over us Dyna riders since your ST frame is designed for the Fat Boy triple trees ....

After you (i) swap the rear fender and (ii) swap out footpegs for floorboards, you'll have a Fat Boy with a Deuce tank ...

Good job ... looks good ....

p.s. just remembered the Deuce frame is slightly different from the other ST models ... something about the swingarm or aft portion of the frame as I recall ....

Default Fat Kid Kit on Deuce

The parts all came from JP Cycles in a kit called "Fat Kid". It's pretty much a compiled list of FLST parts from V-Twin. The only issue I had was the lower triple tree's fork stop. The earlier big twins had a curved piece of metal in between that I had to cut out. Then the bars turned too far and would hit the tank so I JB Welded a piece of square stock to make the opening smaller. Problem solved! I also purchased a Fat Boy front fender from eBay. The one is the kit was not as thick as an original. If anyone is interested I wrote down all the part numbers from V-Twin.

I did, just last weekend as a matter of fact. I had been running with the Heritage headlight with no tins and wires hanging out like gutted roadkill. I need to get pics and update it, maybe this weekend.

More good info Rene but I need to add a note, the nacelle limits headlight adjustment on Dyna's with 29 degree rake. You might get away with it on the wide glide frames and any other that has more rake. I just couldn't get the light to shine out far enough to make me feel safe at night so it came off.

What do you mean "unclear concept"? These bikes are intended to mimic the styling of the early FLH's. Similar to what the Heritage and the Deluxe were designed for. Main difference being the FL Softails are intended to look like the rigid HydraGlide and we are chasing the look of the DuoGlide.

"Why not just buy a Road King or Street Glide? Just sayin'." I don't want a bagger is why. I don't like running bags unless I need them and the baggers look like **** stripped down.

"This is nuts. Fat front ends, short or air shocks, floorboards, windshields, apes, Z bars, fork lowering kits, forward controls. ON A DYNA?" Really??? I think you are on the wrong forum if you think people are nuts to add things to their bikes.
