I'm not a big fan of the floorboards so I'd suggest putting something like the kury switchblades on, where the peg can be extended for comfort then folded back up.
I was wondering how something like a switchblade would work back there that would keep it normal size and then be able to flip it out and have more area that is a thought i have been having as well. As i agree that big stuff back there on a dyna just doesn't usually look very good.
Sounds like you might be heading a different direction, but I went with HD's boards for the wife.
I didn't want them - but I didn't want to clean her boots off of the pipes anymore either.
She really likes them from a function standpoint, and I got used to the look while folded up.
baseman those look good but i just cant spend that kind of jack i looked into them and holy cow looks like it cost me dam near $400 bucks 200 for the brackets and 200 for the chrome inserts etc.
For mine - part #50886-02 was the chrome version that included everything I needed.
Box reads: 02' - 05' and up Dyna Granted, that was a few years ago, so I wouldn't trust the 'and up' part.
Dealer price was $272.95, but I've seen them quite cheaper online.
I went with the same thing as Baeseman (without the chrome cover). I did the whole thing for around a buck fiddy. Here's what I found last spring when I priced out all of the parts:
Harley Part # 49349-07 (the Mounting Brackets) Zanoti - $140.36 Latus - $199.99 EBAY - $89.95
SC if you have time can you throw a couple photos showing those passenger floor board extensions folded up? I'd like to get my wife a set, and while I agree they're not that pleasing to the eye if it'll make her legs less cramped I'm gonna do it.
Bry, I don't have a problem doing that but I can tell you they don't stay up. With the size of the pegs I have on there, they hit the primary (left side) and the battery box (right). I actually remove the whole assembly when riding solo, which I do most of the time.
I was thinking of going up to my storage area just to get out of the house...(that's where my bike is now) so I'll snap a couple while I'm there.
