I am looking for a windshield for my 06 Superglide. I was looking at a couple different models. The first was the Quick Release detachable compact windshield standard height part# 58346-06 and the other was the quick release detachable Touring windshield part# 57015-06. I am really courious as to how the touring windshield looks on a bike. I havent seen any bikes with it installed. But if it looks ok I would just as well get the Touring Windshield if it actually blocks a lil more. Also was courious as to if there is much buffetting with either of the windshields. It seems more and more like my cool looking solo Superglide is slowly turning into a bagger,..LOL, but oh well,... I bought mine to ride. I even managed to talk the wife into us getting a new Road King Custom around Jan or Feb, and she was all for it,.... and if im lucky I get to keep the Dyna too,...since she has her eye on it being her's then.
I have the 58348-06 Quick Release Compact Dyna Low Profile Smoked windshield on my Bob and, yes, it buffets no matter where I put it. I thought about the touring version but thought it would not work as well on the Bob. Part of the benefit of the touring version is that it gives more protection to the hands but I thought that might not work on the Bob because the bars are higher. I had a Convertible Windshield Kit, 91849-85C on a Sportster for several years and it worked better than the shield I now have on the Bob. But, the Sportster shield was not available for the Bob because it clamps to the fork tubes and they were smaller diameter on the Sportster.
I am still fiddling with mine and still do not know the answer. I am about 5'5" tall so I can get the shield higher than my head but I do not like to look through it so I keep it below eye level. I wear a full face helmet and earplugs and it still bugs me. Maybe I am just picky because others seem to be happy with the present Dyna shield.
I have a Windvest 16" high and 14" wide and I have tried every possible setting on it and moving it forward and back and no matter where it is I get what I think is what you are calling buffeting. My head shakes so much at 70mph that the street signs actually blur! I hate it and I am looking for something that does not do this. So I too am interested in what will work.
Thanks
I don't think it's either -- it looks like the "standard height". AZ Rider??
I have the quick detach super sport on my Street Bob. It is not a tiny sport shield like it sounds though. They show it online on the HD site, but it's not in the catalog yet. Some buffeting over about 70 mph, but not bad. Overall, I love it. I'll have to get a good photo of it.

I have a set of Memphis Shades Slims on my '06 FXDCI, because I didn't like the Quick Release. On my wife '04 FXD I have the HD windshield that they don't make now.
