Only thing I regret is not knowing that HD was coming out with a black sideplate and sissy bar set up a month after I got my chrome one.
I still need to get it powder coated, but I just can't seem to work on my bike without screwing something else on the bike up!
I get a little ticked when I spend money on something that it turns out I don't like. For instance, bars, pegs, etc. That's why this site is so great. You can do a LOT of research and know what you are getting before you spend the cash on it.
I've spent a lot on my bike, pissed away a ton in bars, and blew way to much on other hobbies! But the way I look at it is, it's only money, I'll make more! No regrets.
Yes, I've had some regrets on money spent on extras/add-ons for bikes. I changed exhausts on a previous bike twice (rejetted multiple times) and ended up wishing I'd just kept it simple and stayed stock. Never regretted the time spent working on them but now I'm less likely to spend money like that (which likely puts me in the minority).
my biggest regret at this time is not buying the 05 fxdx that a dealership had at the time I was purchasing my bike. I was looking at the wrong things for sure when I was shopping. I bought an 05 fxdc instead. for only 1K more I could have had the fxdx. At that time the tall rear shocks threw me a bit and I did not find the bike to my liking visually. Had I know I was going to end up with a bike that is all blacked out with 12" shocks, I could have saved a lot in getting that bike! It was already all black.... all I needed to do was change the shocks to 12" ones and possibly change the seat. It was pre owned and I think it had a larger touring type seat as well which also made me not like it. Damn... I could have avoided lots of paint and powdercoat work, wheels, etc. by getting that bike.
Regret is a pretty strong word. The meaning from Dictionary.com - "a sense of loss, disappointment, dissatisfaction, etc." No Regrets on my end....The decisions I've made have led me to where I am....and I'm likin' where I am!
Spent money on Wine , Woman and song. I am now single and date a few gals do not drink and go to bed way to early for a song. I am however well rested and alert to ride the following day and enjoy life to its fullest.
I wish I could call back all the money I have ever pissed away on cars, motorcycles, bars, wives, courts, medical co-pays, loans, Phillip Morris, and bank fees.
***** it
Hmm, liquer stores, casinos, dope, and money that just got lost (litterally), bad "loans" to "M8's", money pissed away to impress women that weren't worth impressing............
But I have an Idea!!!! If someone can arange for me to get one thin dime for every man, women and child on the planet, you'll never hear me complain again!!
