OK; here's where I'm at with this project...the nylon see-thru cover is apparently obsolete; I've got a few people looking for them now, I think I'll find some...and I need polished aluminum take-off covers to "convert"...got a couple coming off e-Bay...after machining, welding on the mount ring and smoothing they need to be powder coated to cover the modification so I'm only making them in HD wrinkle black. Chrome is theoretically possible but would be a lot of finishing with weld only. I hope to take mine out for a ride in the next few days and see what the cover does; it's unusually warm up here but still only about 42F and the roads are sh*t. I'll keep you people posted...
