I have bought too many things in the past that did not say specifically for my 05 fxdwg and they are sitting on the shelf collecting dust. So, I am skeptical about the fact that it would be Ok for mine if HD says 06 Dyna and later.
Having said that, I am not sure how different the 06 is from the 05 other than the 96.
I am trying to look at this as hard as I can with my limited intelligence.
I have a friend that rides and '04 WG. Our rear fenders are only like 1/2"-3/4" difference, although the struts are much different since HD moved the signals to the very rear of the strut in 06+.
If you have parts collecting dust, why not throw them up on the classifieds or on ebay or on craigslist. I'm sure someone out there can use them and you can recoup some of your cash unless you have become emotionally attached.
Why would you want handrails on your bike? That is what you are for, tell her to wrap her arms around you. Those silly handrails are not going to help much anyways. On an 05 they can grab onto the sissy bar behind them if they really need something to hold onto.
If you are riding kids, wear a vest and have them hold the back of the vest around the sleeve hole..
When my daughter was getting on my bike for the first time, she wouldn’t ride without the handrails…and that was on a FLHTC! Now she rides on my WG with no trouble. But I think she liked the extra “security” of something fixed to hold on to. Back to the original post though….I searched for a part for an 05 without luck too. You might have to rig something up as SC-Longhair mentioned. Good luck!!
