I just bought a 2010 Super Glide via Millitary Sales through Harley Factory. Anyhow it will be delivered in May, and I am still in Iraq. I am looking at parts to have waiting for me to start customizing. I am 5' 4" tall, am I to short for forward controls? I would like to be confortable on the long rides.
Congrats on the new bike, I know you"ll be happy . I'm 5'9" and have a 29" inseam. I love the midcontrols but I to put on forward pegs. The first set were 4" pegs [not long enough] The hard part with forward pegs was I had a problem with getting my right leg on the pegs around the AC. I had to put on 5" pegs, which is better but I wish I had 6" pegs but I can't find any. Good luck and stay safe.

I'm 5' 6" with 30" inseam and after about 200 miles they would get a little unconfortable for me until I added the heal rest and now I've done 600 mile days with no problems.
My inseam is 28ish, I think I am going to wait and see how the fit is.. Maybe stay with the Mid-Controls with HWY Pegs up front. I've got some Machenist buddies that would probably make some custom pegs..
But more imput would be nice, maybe some ideas?

I've got to throw in a vote for your idea here, it's the setup I have on mine and really works well with having two foot positions for the longer rides. You also retain the ability to shift and brake with your heels from the highway pegs--an ability that is lost if you opt for forward controls with retaining the mid pegs for the alternate foot position.
Having two positions for your feet is the way to go.If your short armed you might start thinking about a set of pull back risers. It will help you have a better sitting position. I have the 4" and didn"t have two change any cables and I sit straighter up.
