Here are the pics of the smooth wraparound rear fender i bought and modified to fit my 99 dyna wide glide. Its not finished yet but this is after i modified it to fit where i wanted, drilled the holes and changed out the wide glide strut covers(about 2-3 inches longer than superglide ones) Cost of fender is $200 Retail. It has a jack under it so its not sitting as low as it will when its on the ground but i wanted a unmolested fender to sit low over the tire and it wont have any lights in the fender at all. Side mount license plate will be mounted up.

That fender is going to make the rear end look real clean. I understand that the bike is jacked and that the fender will sit lower, but it looks like you may have room to fill out the fender with a somewhat wider tire.
looks good. I have been thinking about doing the same thing
It isnt that hard. All i needed was a fender with a 7 1/4 inch width and a little skill with a welder and a piece of scrap flat steel to modify the front since its rounded front and back you just measure and chop an area flat for the front and weld the flat plate on for the front mounting hole and splash guard area. Only took me a couple hours from start to finish.

Yeah, that was the intention. Thats only a 130 on it now. Should easily be able to fit a 150, if not wider tire in the fender since no wires are running along the inside. I wanted it as wide as i could go without cutting off the stock fender stuts. Mission accomplished.
Oooooo... you know... I liiiiike it!
Hey, did you 'test' fit the seat/fender connection while you were setting the fender location?
It's not critical but the fender location up & down makes a slight difference to the shape of the seat pan.
It's not that big-a-deal... the plastic pan can flex a bit.

"08fxd" I did test fit the seat but my main concern was fender fitment the way i liked it. Turned out the seat fit almost exactly like factory.
I liked being able to make the fender fit low and as far forward as i liked although i couldve moved the fender slightly more forward as an afterthought.
