Look into the extension kits they are color coded and easy to do as long as you pay attention to where the wires come out of the plugs.
If you were closer I'd offer to help you do it, It's so simple.

Thanks for the offer. I asked the parts guy about plug & play extensions and he insisted that there were no prefabbed extensions available, he said you literally had to cut, splice and solder. I dont know.

The good news?

I just got my bike back with the mini apes on! There is just no comparison to the stock bars! WAAY more comfortable! I got hit with 6 hrs labor so that was a little better but it still stinks.

Yeah, they'll usually quote it high, but a good mech will only charge the time it actually takes. 6 sounds reasonable for alll that work

I got charged 2 hrs for the same thing, internally wired, and that included relocating my turn signals. I did get it done at the same time as my 1000 mi service so it saved some labor.

The parts guys generally don't know squat outside of MoCo parts. The extensions you can buy are from the MoCo.

I wired in my own extensions.... not that hard, just pay attention to detail.

I did this mod just this afternoon. 2009 SuperGlide.Black Mini apes(56075-07) Throttle cable(56356-96a) Idle Cable(56355-96a) Brake Line(42728-06) Clutch Cable(38789-06c. These cables are all the stock black cables that are off the 09 Street Bob.. There 4 inches longer than the stock stuff on the Super glide, and worked perfect. I didn't have to extend the wiring any. Just pulled the slack from under the tank. And didnt have to remove the tank at all...Just my 2 cent worth..Oh, I have the 2" tank lift so thats why the cables were easy to get to going to the throttle body..

When I installed my 16" ape I also installed new chrome switches. The Drag Specialties switched come with long wires on the switches. I actually had to cut some off, and they are ran internally and through the riser and connect inside of the neck. Good luck.
