Have you tried just shimmying the front end while you turn the key? The lock doesn't always line up perfectly. I have to do that on my WG sometimes.

I have the same problem with my '09 Street Bob, and the dealer told me that Dyna steering locks, especially Street Bobs, suck and will eventually fail to engage.

If you lock the forks without having the bars all the way to the left, and then move the bars at all the lower triple tree will hit the lock staft and move it out of alignment. As already said, just get a small screwdriver from underneath (there's lots of room in there) and move it forward. The whole thing will move quite easily.

Uncle_Timmy is spot on. It worked for me exactly as he said.
