Not really maybe 3 DB difference. If you are looking for more sound I wouldn't worry about coming into your neighborhood quiet, kind of unavoidable. IMO Any bike is able to have minimal disruption. It's the driver that needs to shift up one more gear and not hot rod. I have not had any complaints and I live around a bunch of old people. I think if you leave and come back you're fine in your neighborhood. Rev like crazy and gun it back and forth would be a problem.
Oh yea the quiets just give you more of a muffled sound. I think either way will be fine in your neighborhood unless you're riding in the middle of the night. I followed a buddy that had them and cruising I think you SG stereo will be fine..LOL!! Now if she has a heavy right hand then maybe the upgrade!!
My neighbors call the cops on the kids on our street for playing too close to thier house, on other neighbors for not parking just right, each other for stereos being too loud... etc. They're all a pain in the a$$. But they all stop and wave when I come and go with my straightshots just like they did with standard mufflers.
Moral of the story is, don't be an a-hole and you won't get treated like one.
I put the quiet baffles in mine and like the sound better than without...its a more focused rumble...I thought it sounded a bit raspy and " loose" without them .
Be assured ..the quiet baffles in the straightshots still yeild a MUCH louder tone than the stock exhaust ..I think She would love it ...
V&H StraightShot Slipons are fine. I have the BCT Monster Baffles in mine. Loud as hell. Sounds like a Harley from the 1960s which is what I wanted. I also have the FuelPak and Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner - bike runs great..!

How much are the BCT's and do you have a part number by any chance?? I thought about trying the quiets without the glass on there and see if that would give some torque back, but leave me with loud music!!
Well I bought a set today on Ebay from Robs cycle in Syracuse NY. I ordered the quiet baffles at the same time. Should have them by weeks end and installed. Can't wait to "hear" how loud these puppies will be. My wife gave me "attitude" when I told here I ordered the "quiet" baffles too!
She wants here bike to "rumble" Lol! Probably won't be a problem I'm thinking at this point.
I'll post back once the pipes are on. Everyones input greatly apprechiated!
I ran the StraightShot Slipons on my sportster and liked them so much, I bought a set on Ebay for 125.00 for my 09 Super Glide, and had the Quiet Baffles in Both. As time goes on the Quiet Baffles do get louder, and you can always take the packing out of the Quiet baffle and run it without, and have the sound of the stock baffles. The Quiet baffles are made to give you more back pressure than the stock ones do, which is good..My 2 cents.....
I have V&H straight shot slip ons on my 2010 Super Glide, with the standard loud baffles, and I love the sound. I added the XIED's to enrich the fuel mixture a bit, because these things are set up very lean. Didn't have any remapping done, or get the fuel pak. The XIED's are very simple to install...just go between the O2 sensors and the fuel management system.
The bike is moderately loud....I try to get out of my neighborhood in the morning as quiet as I can...but I don't think the neighbors mind this one too much....I also have a Valkyrie with 6 cobra straight pipes (no baffles) that will set off car alarms.
