Nope!! I lowered the tubes like a 1/16 of an inch. The bars barely touched the tubes, but I didn't like them touching. The gap now you can fit a piece of paper between the lower part of the bars and top of the tubes. I rode 150 miles this weekend with the bars and went through some twisties and regular straight highway and didn't notice any difference in handling.
I took a trip to Corvallis today and my fuel light/miles to empty came on at 90 miles, instead of the 120 I normally got before the tank lift.
Not too horrible knowing that 120 miles equals 3 to 3.2 gallons of fuel depending on where/how I ride. I never paid attention to the stupid fuel gauge in the first place......although the light and miles to empty will be a bit annoying, the looks are well worth it. I like the view of the speedo better as well.

Well mine is better then yours!! My light came on today at 142. I got the the gas station at 155 and put 3.28 gal back in. That works for me. I usually fill up at 150ish anyways, but I have gone 200 on a tank before.
I just don't get the tank lift on a Dyna deal. These bikes have such a steep rake that moving the tank up makes it look even steeper and ruins the geometry and flow of the bike lines IMHO. Looks goofy as all hell if you ask me, but ya didn't so take it for what it's worth. I think they look better stock.

I know what you mean because I thought the same thing! Not as detailed, but thought they looked weird. Over the last 2 years I've had my bike they have grown on me and I like it so far. It is what it is, but that's why everybody has their own bike.
