My favorite upgrade was the Rinehart mufflers I got bran new at less than half price. I always wanted these but thought $500 for slip ons was ridiculous. When I saw them on clearance from motosport for $190 I ordered them immediately. The sound and look was exactly what I wanted and I saved alot.
My single best mod was putting a set of bars/Tach assy from a 06 screamin' eagle fatboy on my 08 FXDC .Then 2nd would be the mustang vintage solo.... These mods made the riding position so comfortable that I have no issue with those 200+ mile days.... All the other mods are great , but If you aren't totally comfortable on the bike , everything else isnt worth much.
Hands down it is my under-$50-all-Krylon paint job. Quality is not the best, but it'll do for now. I've got almost no money tied up it in, did it myself, and anything was better than that hideous "sunglo" red metal flake pearl %@#& that came on it.
Stage 2, SE Comp, and Dyno all performance. The rest is eye candy or comfort and fit. I do like the model on the bike need to get me one of those. Some great looking Dyna's posted.
My favorite mod is going to be the "Gary7 Ultimate Street Bob" mod. Replacing the stock 09 FXDB baffles w/ a set of cycle shack baffles. Awesome sound for about 60 bones. As soon as the stainless steel wool arrives from e-bay...if it ever arrives...
Hopefully this weekend. This will be my first major mod so I'm psyched.
Gary7: "It's un-fricken-real how good these things sound. They are very LOUD, but not in an obnoxious way. I'd love to have someone ride my bike so I could hear what they sound like taking off and going by. But man at idle it's a BIG BASS THUNDER. And when you're under way and get on the throttle, think 50-caliber machine gun firing 2000 rounds a minute with a big standup base playing backup. Cruising down the Interstate at 60-70 they are just a distant rumble, but when you twist the throttle it's 50-caliber time again."
