Default Need seat help???

Bought my first HD, an FXDC in January. Previous owner had installed an HD Sundowner seat. The thing is just huge and at 5'7" it's just to high and wide. Advantage is it's really soft and I like the back support. I tried the stock seat but it feels too hard after the Sundowner. My wife doesn't ride but hope to get her on board for a few short trips by late summer so I want to stay with a 2-up seat. Been looking online at the Mustang Squareback and Fastback. I don't really know anyone with either and live an hour from the closest dealer so am going to have to wing it. I prefer the styling of the Fastback but is the passenger pillion on the comfy enough for a day trip? Anybody out there with experience?

I'm pretty sure you mean C&C seats??

IMO if your girl isn't riding yet I would get the fast back for looks and you'll be starting on small rides anyways so I'm sure it will be fine. Then you can get the squareback or sport tour later once when the girl wants to ride more if she can't handle the fastback. Then you have both. Throw on the big bulky seat for long ride and switch it up when you're solo. If she doesn't like riding you still have the seat you want. I got the C&C solo and so far I love it. Once the wife has any urge to ride I'd go with the square back or sport tour first only because I already have the solo. Or I may try the pillon! If I were in your shoes I'd do what I said first. At 5'7" though their seats will sit you down 1 " and back 1". So when you call them and talk to chuck tell them your hieght and what you want out of your seat and they will make it accordingly and you won't be disappointed. They are a great company and I recommend the Mercedes leather. IMO looks a lot better then plane solid leather.

Passenger area on a Fastback style seat is made for running down the street not a day ride.

I have a C&C Fast Back with removeable drivers backrest and its good for the driver. Its not near as soft as a Sundowner but not as hard as some others.

Like stated above my Fastback moved me back and down some over stock.

This had its advantages and disadvatages.

I am 5'7 also so down was good and back made the mid controls more comfortable. I had to bring my highway pegs back some and put on bars with lots of pullback though.
