Im glad this thread was rehashed, it just proves my point...........

Now a few things to point out while you look at this thread. It was Started in March of 2010 I believe this is about the time of the show Sons of Anarchy really got popular. Second thing to note, take a look at the people posting pics of their fairings then take a look at the signature pictures. This is exactly my point of people who just follow a trend then they realize who they really are or aren't.

I bought my fairing from eBay in March of 2008. Would you like to see the receipt?

Not sure but maybe i missed something, seems a bit harsh , people change their rides all the time I know I do, whats wrong with trying some things, not to be an ******* but maybe you try to be more positive in you life, less stress = longer life,

So if I want a 1/4 fairing and am going to buy it today Aug 20th 2012, then I am a poser dbag who is only trying to look like a tv show that happens to model their bikes after a established and well known real world motorcycle club?

I am so sick of everybody trash talking about having a quarter fairing because of the SOA show. It makes me want to vomit. I like the looks of the quarter fairing and I dont care if you put it on prior to the show starting or not. There is probably half a dozen people in the world that put the fairing on without first seeing it on a dyna elsewhere. If everybody made their bike to be completely different in every way possible from any bike they have ever seen there would be some hideously ugly bikes. Some looks are awesome and functionality of some mods has been found to be beneficial-we dont have to reinvent the God Damn wheel on everything we do in life. If you are going to make fun of ppl for looking like SOA look alike and not being original then you better not be running any sort of black leather bags, chrome or black exhaust, loud pipes-cuz those somebody before you had these mods that you saw and you are unoriginal.
For the record I dont have any fairing. I am going back and forth between tall apes and tall risers w/drag bars. I like both looks. If I go with a tbar like bar, I will do a fairing. And anybody that makes fun of me I will reply with "oh look, your pipes are (black or chrome), you are so unoriginal as well-POSER"

I first put a quarterfairing on one of my bikes back in 1981... the bike was an old Yamaha XS650 that I was trying to make look like a cafe racer. I bought the fairing from good ol' J.C. Whitney...

Unoriginal? Maybe... but I liked it, and that's all that counts! 32 years later, I STILL like it. Call me what you want, it says more about you than it does me.

(thought to self: the term "poser" has become so overused that it hardly means anything anymore...)

I don't have a fairing but I like the way people are putting them on. It's different!
The next gen Harley riders have action sports back grounds or are past Motocross racers. They have style and don't want ape hangers with huge bellys and leather tassels hanging from their grips. They are performance & handling driven, and don't just park their bikes in front of some bar. I'm glad we have companies like Rolland sands that make us take another look at our dynas.
So if you don't like it don't enter the thread. If you look at how popular these thread are, you will see it doesn't need you.

The 1/4 fairing actually serves a purpose. Made my dyna more rideable. I was tired of the wind pressing my chest. Now I can do some serious miles.
