Hello all. I am new to HD Forums. I am an antique harley collector and just bought my first late model harley, 2002 Dyna Wide Glide (great deal couldnt pass up). It is completely bone stock. I am 6'2" and weigh 215 lbs. I am going to lower the bike, do not mind a rougher ride, I am used to rigid frames. My question is how much to lower the bike to provide a custom look but not too much where its going to bottom out? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
My personal choice was a Mustang Solo with a backrest, since these old bones start hurting after a 3 or 400 mile ride. My OL has a Corbin on her scoot, but as it's been stated out here many times, everyone's butt is different.
For a seat Lepera barebones will give you the lowest look, and least comfort. For more comfort and low profile I just switched to a Mustang Tripper and am very happy with it on my 05 WG.
Pics of your 02 are always welcome!
I went with a BAR Enterprises seat and am very comfortable.
It had 1.5" cut out compared to the stock WG seat, and it is about 1" lower, but with the density of the foam rides great.
On my old 01 WG I had added fwd extensions with the stock seat, but I like the ride on this better.
