Belt Guard
Cause it looks like ****?
i took mine off.
i like the look much better without the guards.
if i'm going on a long, multi-day ride i might put the lower guard back on, because that's where debris is gonna hit your belt and kick up into your pulley or worse, not the top of the belt where the upper guard sits.
busting a belt 15 miles from home is a lot different than busting a belt in a different state...
other than that i've had no problems

well since bikes dont have reverse there is NO way a rock can get in the top while moving forward.............NO WAY
So to those saying its risky I hope you have both on because to take the lower off and leave the top saying its because of a rock is foolish at best.

There are so many bikes out there with belt drive that there is going to be no single solution on this. The majority of us will get by without guards and without problems. I have just replaced a damaged belt and have always had my guards on, but a pal of mine took his guards off and the same day picked up serious belt and pulley damage from a large sharp stone. I ran my damaged belt for around 5k miles, until the hole began to break through to the edge of the belt, so even stone damage does not mean the belt is shot.
Lets all put the pocket protectors away and go ride, sheesh
I don't think this would be an issue for me. The passenger pegs are mounted far enough away from the belt that she would have to have some oldschool 70's bell bottoms to get cought up in it. That would make for a real sh1tty day though.
