Well as a surprise... my wife bought me a sissy bar with all the goodies in order for her to start riding with me. Luckily she got the gloss black that's detachable, so that should make it better for me. Because realistically I know that she won't want to ride more than once every other week, so I can still keep the look I love with the detachable.
Question is how hard is it to put on the turn signal relocation kit? I'm getting all of my parts in today, so I plan on getting it knocked out before I go to work on graveyards tonight.
Well, my wife went into the Stealership and ordered everything the guy at the parts counter told her she needed. My buddy said he needed it for his 08 with a detachable sissy bar. I just assumed the 09 would need it also.
I could be wrong...but I know I've seen the docking hardware installed between turn signal and strut cover. Maybe someone who has that done can post a pic.
Yeah, i had to install the relocation kit on my fat bob (because i have the wide glide rear fender, etc). I can tell you one thing...it's not fun, but if your semi handy you could do it....a few hours, a six pack and some patience.
my main issue: (because i don't fully read directions)
you need to cut the wiring to get the turn signal off and re-run it through a different hole coming out of the signal...no big deal, right? mistake #1 i CUT the wire too close to the signal, so when i needed to splice it the wires were too short and ended up having to rewire the actual signal themselves.......i could go on with this rant for hours.......
my advice....read the directions and take your time
