dyna front end HELP
ok Im new here.. I heard of people doing this i have a 2004 dyna low rider an would like to swap front end with a wider stance an i have heard of people using fat boy front ends if so what years? thanks in advance for any help
All Fat Boy front ends will fit. What wheel you want will determine what axle size you need. Axles will 3/4in, 1in, or 25mm. In some cases (maybe many- there's been debates) you can change wheel bearing to meet your needs.
I put 1in bearings in an '08 Fat Boy rear wheel. But I left the 25mm front wheel alone.

You will need to grind down the fork stops on the lower tree and remove the stop on the Dyna neck. I have pics of my project in my Album. I pieced together a Fat Boy end off eBay. I went with the older, (1986-1999) 5/8in longer fork tubes. I didn't want to lose any more cornering clearance than I had too.
41 mm Fork Tubes
1984 & later 41mm fork tubes are all the same with the exception of total length.
FLT 1984-1996 22-7/8"
FLT 1997-later 20-1/4"
FLSTC/N/F 1986-1999 22-7/8"
FLSTC/N/F 2000-later 22-1/4"
FXWG ,FXST/C 1984-1999 24-1/2"
FXDWG,FXST/C 2000-later 24-1/4"
Some FLT models 2002-later use cartridge damper on the left side.
I was told that the 1in and 25mm lower fork legs are the same. All that was changed was the center of the axle size. My lower legs are '07 for an 1in axle and the '08 25mm axle fits.
Good luck on your decision.

if you do a search, there is an entire thread dedicated to Dyna's with FL Front Ends... there is a link in that thread to a group that is also specific to the topic.
