Default Rocker C Axle Spacer

I don't want to get into it. The Motor Corporation suck and I can't believe I let an independent shop touch my bike.

Can someone send a pic of the rear axle (caliper side) so I can see the spacers?

Thanks.

Default Further HELP!

Sarah,
Thanks again.

Follow on question, has anyone taken their wheel off? EverythingI am seeing is that there are three (3) spacers on the caliper side in thefollowing manner:

A large one on the wheel side, a small one and then onethat goes into the caliper.

Here is the issue.

I had the dealer install DNA Greed wheels on my bike usingall the OEM parts aside from the pulley, pulley bolts and disc . No problems, ran the bike for 5,000 miles. Then I took it to an independent shop to put on anew rear tire and perform a service. When I picked the bike up I noticed some "chirp"on the down shift, which is indicative of a loose belt. I informed them of thisand they asked me to bring the bike back. When I brought the bike back in, I startedto notice some movement on the rear, then a grinding noise. I stopped calledthe shop and they picked it up. When they looked at it, the rear disc had duginto the brake caliper bracket. They had a factory Harley mech look at it andhe pulled the schematic, and said the wrong spacers were in it. He sighted theservice manual which showed part number 41242-08. But then he seemed to rememberthat the rocker had more than one spacer on there. Sure enough, I saw a stock rockerthis weekend, and the pics that Sarah posted and there are indeed three. So,what was determined is that they neglected to put in (read: "lost")the middle one.

The motor corporation won't let me talk to a tech. Doesanyone know the size of the spacers in regards to length?

Here is a close up that may help. I can't really tell for sure if there are three spacers or just one. To my eye there seems to be two grooves in a single spacer. The grooves are pretty shallow, but then again I don't know what purpose the grooves would serve.

Sarah,
Thanks for the additional pic.

Here's one I took of a rocker yesterday. The sequence is different than yours, but as you can see, there's three lol. The Motor Corp is stupid.

The only difference that I can see is that the spacer that runs up against the bearing is flipped, and I don't believe that is a problem - if I recall correctly the score marks should be to the outside, like yours.

The spacer that cant be seen in these pics, between the brake bracket and swingarm, ... make sure that one is there.

"The Motor Corp is stupid. " - what makes you say that?

"The sequence is different than yours, but as you can see, there's three" - three what, .... I only see one spacer, .... which has score lines on one side.

The parts diagram shows a single spacer between the caliper bracket and the wheel bearing, and a single spacer between the caliper bracket and the swingarm. Two total on that side.

Well, I had a tech call me. There were two, yes two spacers at one point (not counting the axle adjustment spacer.

This thread is a little confusing.

I'll chime in and maybe it'll help.

There's 2 spacers on that side PLUS the black piece which is the carrier for the caliper.

The bigger spacer (the one with the two lines scored on it) out of the 2 goes right up to the bearing (like in Sara's picture). As far as which way those lines go (towards bearing or towards the swing arm) it doesn't matter. I've had them in both ways and no difference at all in the handling.
Next to the bigger spacer goes the black piece which is the brake caliper holder and then next to that goes the smaller spacer.

Maybe the shop just didn't adjust that belt properly and the axle/wheel was sitting in there cocked?
