I have the Rush 1.75 on my 2010 FXDC and they are a lot louder than the stock were. I am thinking of ordering the 1.50 to quiet it down a little bit. They told me the 1.75 were deeper toned and slightly louder, but they seem a little loud for me. They tell me the 1.50 will drop the noise level by 6 db.
Update 4/24/10 - Changed my mind, I am sticking with the 1.75. Yesterday I had my buddy ride the bike, if he was not into it it sounded very good deep, but not overly loud, but when he got into it it really sounded nice. Not as loud as some of those drag pipes, but loud enough to let someone know a Harley is coming. Really like the sound.
They sound a lot different off the bike than they do riding the bike.

I had Rush mufflers with 2in. baffles and could not stand the sound. I think the cat had a lot to do with with the bad sound. They were louder than stock though.
Louder and much better. Got the Rush 1.75 on my FXDC. Quiet when you want them to be but loud enough when you crank the throttle. No remapping. Bike runs excellent.

I had 2.0 baffles and they made my ears ring so I went to 1.75. Now my ears ring less
They get louder the longer you have them. The baffles come out real easy...like in 20 seconds....you could say they are quick release. They have a fiberglass wrapping around them.
When I had my Nightster, I ran Rush slipons with 2.25" baffles! A bit much needless to say. i went down to 1.75" and was concerned it wouldn't be enough. It was perfect. My hubby had had Rush slipons with 2" baffles on a Night Train. Sounded great. We both used to get a lot of compliments on the sound of our bikes with the Rush. I miss loud(er) pipes. I would consider going with Rush again.
Rush 1.75's here. Quite a bit louder than stock when accelerating . . but I have to say at crusing RPM's I don't notice much difference. (FWIW)
Overall I'm very happy with mine. I've still got to do a couple more tunes with my TTS but mileage is up and hopefully I have a little bit more improvement.
I have the Rush with the 1.75 baffles on my 08 SB. Yes, they are a lot louder than stock but not unpleasant. Nice rumble actually. I like em quite a bit; they sound good and the bike seemed much quicker with them and the open AC than with the stockers. The only thing I don't like about them is that the chrome on the front muffler where it connects to the header discoloured pretty quick.
My set did exactly the same thing in the same place as you mention. When it first started showing I thought it was from me getting lazy and letting my boot heel rub against there. As it got worse I realized I never touch it with my boot. Why is this particular area of the muffler subject to this discoloration?
