got a 97 superglide that i put drag bars on and now my clutch cable is wat too long was wondering if anybody knows what length i should go with or what the standard length the cable is from factory i already took it off and threw it away and didn't measure it. thanks
ummm...Why did you throw it away? Never throw away good parts, someone may be willing to buy it from you if nothing else.
You will just have to measure the route you want it to take now, if no one can answer this for you.
call Johnny at hdbikeparts.com he will fix you up. I had the same scenario with my fatbob and Ultra and his cables were right on the money when I installed them.
hang the measuring seamstress tape on the bike in place of the cable from the location and measure that, i think thats what he meant, and or do a mockup just use some string and hang it in the cable place. Then take it off and measure that, and +1 on add a few inches.
Since you do not longer have the initial cable, you could use a garden hose or a piece of metal or electrical wire and route it the way you want to have the new cable on the bike and measure it's length.
