Default Carb question?

I have a 2000 dyna lowrider and i am looking to change the slow and fast jets on the carb and shim the needle. What type of carburator comes stock on this bike? It has a hrley stamp on it. Also how the heck do i get the air filter off of there. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I believe it's a Keihin CV carb. That's about all I remember since I switched over to an S&S Super G years ago.

The stock is a Kiehin CV carb. The air cleaner cover is held on with a big philips screw. The set up I am running with is, believe it or not, the stock jets. A #45 pilot and a #195 main, I shimmed the needle with 2 #4 brass washers and turned the air/fuel mix screw out 2 1/2 turns from lightly seated. There is a plug that covers the a/f mix screw, that has to be removed. What mods have you done to mod the carb?

Yes. Needed a bigger carb when we increased the displacement of the motor, now 117", compared to the stock 88".

Not trying to flame you but if you can't figure out how to get the air filter off you might think about having someone re-jet your carb for you. It takes a little experience to get a bike jetted correctly if you have never done it before. You might get away with just a needle change and/or mixture adjustment.

Or, you could always go with a mikuni hsr 42mm carb. It's my favorite carb!
