Went to go for a ride this afternoon and noticed the speedometer not reading. The digital readout for the odometer is on but doesn't move. Kept going anyway because it was nice out. Later on noticed the turn signals weren't canceling. Other than this runs fine. Should I try pulling the speed sensor out and wipe it off or are these symptoms of needing a new sensor?

Try cleaning the sensor, sometimes it pick up a film on it from the tranny oil. Might also check the harness connection under the seat, spray some contact cleaner on the pins and sockets in the plugs.

I put a new sensor in it today and it's working. Looked around at the new bikes while in there getting the part, sat on a fatbob and a superglide custom. That orange FXDC is a sweet looking bike. It's calling to me.........buy me,buy me. I'm a sucker for Superglides I guess. I could easily talk myself into getting a new bike but then I thought about it and 2011 would be the 40th year for this model. I think I'll wait and see.
