man we coat trees all the time bud. here are some of the bikes sporting our work on their front ends... you will see alot of familuar bikes cause alot of them are on the forum
send them my way bud we can coat them for you
and because you are looking for flat black... here is the fighter we just built all flat black on the front end
i'm not sure about the fork tubes but i blacked out everything else by using simple spray paint. most of it was done almost a year ago and i have not had any issues with chipping or flaking.
long as it works, no need to mess with a good thing.
storz makes a set of inverted forks that are all black and are pretty sick or you could powder coat your lowers like everyone is saying. there is another thread on here which tells you how to use appliance epoxy which i have used my self with excellent results and it looks jsut as good as the stuff that i had powder coated but you have to prep the surface well or your paint will look as good as your prep job.
if you want the all black look, use gaitors to cover the tubes, and cover tubes between the trees.
mark, that is one sick bob!!! those lowers blend right in with the wheel and tire, looks like the forks are just floating around the rim. very tight!
oh, and like everyone else said. get them powdered, and joe (JRK5892) does quality work. i've had a few things done and there are many folks here who have also been 100% satisfied with his work!
